Easy Ways to Unclog a Drain

clogged drain.

Having clogged drains is a normal occurrence in households. Don’t go and buy those expensive drain cleaners or always call a plumber. Here are 4 easy steps to getting your drains cleaned.

  1. Baking Soda and Vinegar: Mixing baking soda and vinegar together will cause it to start foaming. When it starts foaming pour it down the drain. Doing this it will unclog a drain.
  2. Wire Hanger: Bend a wire clothes hanger with a little hook at the end. Gently put the hooked part down the drain. Do not force anything further down the drain. The hook is supposed to grab it and pull the gunk that is stopping up your drain.
  3. Plunger: Fill the sink with a little bit of standing water to cause a vacuum suction with the plunger. This will break up what ever is stopping your drain.
  4. Hot/Boiling water: Many times what is clogging drains is built up grease. Pouring hot water down the drain will cause the grease to break up. You may have to do this 3-5 times to make sure you get everything.

If all these steps did not work search Plumber on the Pro Search Page and find a plumber who will be happy to assist you and making sure your drains work again.
